Empowering The Youth

Our Empowering The Youth event is our most known and recommended event! This event allows for a large group of college students to join together for one purpose: to show support and encouragement to students specifically at school. Our volunteer's positive examples as college students allows for younger students to see the potential and opportunities that they too possess while learning in the classroom. This event inspires students to be their best selves and give their best efforts in everything that they do which should correlate to more goals being set and achieved, lower disciplinary infractions, and better class/test grades.

In addition, this event impacts and excites teachers/staff, students, parents, and the community as a whole. Proper and consistent encouragement can be so vital to young ones on the long road to success especially when negative influences and improper role models surround them. Enduring and overcoming obstacles can be a challenge without the proper support system. Therefore, The Lost Generation finds pleasure to supply hope by uplifting, impacting, and empowering students in order to properly lay the foundation and lead the next generation of future doctors, lawyers, teachers, engineers, scientists, dentist, supervisors, etc.

Feature 1

Dressed in business professional attire, a large group of volunteers (50 or more men and women) arrive at an Elementary or Middle school in the morning before the school day begins, and prepare to greet students as they're exiting the buses and their parent's cars. The volunteers form entry rows by the drop-off zones to ensure that each student is greeted with smiles, high-fives, cheers, and a round of applause as they're entering the school building. The volunteers also display various signs with words of encouragement based around a specific theme.

Feature 2

The volunteers then go to the cafeteria or gymnasium where a speech is given to the students centered on encouraging them to develop a positive mindset, believe in themselves, respect others, make good decisions, cherish each day to learn, grow, and prosper, and to be relentless when chasing dreams. These messages are usually shared to the students with a certain emphasis on the school's mission or to promote students to do their best on standardized testing. After the speech is given from the speaker(s), the students will then repeate a designated speech with the group of volunteers.

Feature 3

After the powerful and influential speech, the DJ, provided by The Lost Generation, will play music while the volunteers do a couple dances with the teachers and students as a fun way to conclude the event. This allows for students to interact with our volunteers, display their enthusiasm, and show off some of their dance moves. By changing the environment in the school setting, we hope that it enlightens students mindsets about earning an education and increases the students will to learn.
Our Empowering the Youth event is designed to reassure students that they do not stand alone, but rather there is a great crowd that stands with them and supports them. From studying progress reports, The Lost Generation has discovered that students usually feel tired, overwhelmed, nervous, and sometimes distracted throughout the school year especially during test-taking time. In fact, many students become bored with the same classroom procedures after a while and tend to decrease in energy and focus. Therefore, our event allows us to refresh students and support them in different ways by multiple examples. This event leads to students feeling more confident in themselves and focused at the task at hand. By reaching out to students in this fashion, we hope that student take pride in their education and realize the great future that lies ahead if they're committed to the process of learning, growing, and prospering. The Lost Generation realizes that teachers have a tough job; therefore, we work to assist teachers in their efforts to mold young minds and build students up for a successful future.
